Coaching cycles allow Jud and the learners to work together on implementing new strategies and solving daily classroom problems through feedback and personalized support tailored to the learner's individualized professional goals.

THE PURPOSE OF COACHING CYCLES

  • Non-Evaluative

  • Identify Areas for Teacher Support

  • Promote a Growth Mindset and Culture

INITIATE

Meet prior to the first observation to discuss possible goals for coaching and establish roles for the teacher and coach
 

OBSERVE

Collect observational data that focuses on what is seen or heard

REFLECTION AND FEEDBACK

Present feedback through the teacher’s chosen method and provide time for the teacher to reflect on the feedback, the teaching and learning that was observed

PLAN

Create an action plan of bite-sized next steps for the teacher and create a support plan that provides the best supports for the teacher’s action plan with timeline of events

IMPLEMENT AND SUPPORT

Support the teacher as they implement the action plan
